I take your point Warrior.
The context was this.
As you can imagine NZ Warriors fans are on tenterhooks , hoping for some good news.
That's an understatement , that Tweet Prank set off A cascade of Fan hits to the local websites.
Sonny Bill Williams was linked to the Warriors ( Loosely ) during his return from union carry ons , the hype was impressive.
Sam Tomkins by comparison , in the minds of fans who don't get to see the ESL was a lesser option.... muted , at best luke warmly received by NZder's when first rumored.
Kiwi fans who do their research ( real oil Rugby types ) have since started a bit of a Tomkins Cult following here....the Hype has grown....and in all my years of following this game I can say that I haven't seen anything like it , Tomkins deserves all the hype...no question....but it's going nuts on the NZ Rugby scene
Tomkins has become some kind of revelation , it's getting biblical down here mate lol
As an example of how twitchy things are getting , I attended the last fan feedback forum at the Club.....we were encouraged to ask anything in the email invites etc.
The Opening Speaker declares ' We haven't signed Sam Tomkins.....ending his talk with ' don't ask about Sam Tomkins "
All eyes were on that Forum hoping for a bit of news , a hint or a comment.
So it goes that when the club holds it's next official function.....people pay $ 150 to eat with the players.....then these twits tweet Tomkins has signed.
Three representatives of the NZWARRIORS Tweeting is as close as fans get to hope around this place....and it turns out to be a total wind up.
The NZ Warriors have had three Big signings in 18 years.

Our competition in the mean time Sign some name every season.
Making jokes about Tomkns signing made fools of a few who celebrated large.....it's a big deal.

The NZ Warriors wanted to announce the signing a long time ago. Wigan refused to allow it, presumably so we can get a good news story to release on the day the release the bad news.

Imo this is more than likely happening but won't be pushed either way and with Sam's rising media presence it could be more beneficial to stay a bit longer. Money won't be much of an issue since he could make more with his sky sports work.
Like I said more than likely happening but not 100% certain

Agree, there's hell of a lot of discussions going on - and even more politics being talked. Just surprised all of this hasn't affected his form, considering the knee injury he's been carrying.Kaii wrote:Imo this is more than likely happening but won't be pushed either way and with Sam's rising media presence it could be more beneficial to stay a bit longer. Can we give it a rest about Sam now that we are in the Challenge Cup Final and the business end of the season.
All hands to the pump, as they say!

Haha. Remember ST telling a porky in his daily mail column with regards to not knowing about the andy powell deal. Found that hard to believe at the time, especially when there chairman had already announced it that we had signed him.cpwigan wrote::eusa8:AdamMac wrote:Sams tomkins tells yorkshire radio ' hand on heart, I havent signed a contract with an NRL club yet, despite every tom, dick and harry thinking they know which flight im on and where im living'

What ever decision he makes I'll still respect him since it's obvious he has a ton of respect for the club and in a ideal world he would of stayed, just a pity the greatest sport doesn't get the respect it deserves. If he joins the nz warriors I'll buy a top with his name on if he stays I'll buy a top with his name on
