In that case, I'll probably give it a miss, but if santa brings it as he often does then I won't be unhappy to have it.

If we win in it then I don't care really, just like the pink one, just like the 94-95 one, the kit doesn't make the trophies any less sweet.

The only downside to lots of people potentially disliking it is that the club may make less money, either through sales or value of the deal to manufacturers or both.

No straw damn us wrote:Why is it so hard for some fans to understand that every three years Wigan will have an experimental kit that deviates away from the cherry and white hoops? It's been stated by IL and the club often enough.
Cherry and White hoops are synonymous with Wigan and have been fine for the past umpteen years in whatever shape and form they came. The experimental bit has come in with IL and I suppose there must be a call for this type of thing but personally, if we want to experiment, why not just do it with the away kit?

We had the terrible "Warrior Scribble" kit under before IL.

Personally I sort of like the home kit, but i don't see it as a "Wigan RL" kit. Looks like an 80s Scottish footy top to me. I'll be passing this year, but i like the idea of having something unusual every once in a while.

BTW I wonder if anyone can dig out last years kit vote and see how that compared. I seem to recall every year the overwhelming response (from people who can be bothered to post) is negative, but then lots of people buy the kit every season.

Actually, the votes were very positive for the 2012 kit:

So reaction is more mixed to this one.

As Mike states, we have always experimented WELL BEFORE IL and at least now you know when the experimental design will be. The designers of the 2014 home shirt actually took their ideas from our kits during the great mid 80s to mid 90s. IIRC, the Ellgren shirts had diagonal striped / hoops / lines for example along the upper part/shoulder of a hooped shirt.

The number of comments on the home shirt only proves how bad it is!

The shirt should always be the traditional Cherry and White Hoops with the only difference being the width of the hoop.

The present nonsense of these non traditional shirts is a reason why you are now seeing more supporters wearing sweat shirts, old shirts or anything which is more of traditional hoop design.
