Also how about his benefit will Salford cover the loss of that?![]()

No Dave, I simply have a different opinion to you. My opinion (not argument) is based on my own thought and observations. He does have permanent damage to his wrist that does affect his play, the player himself has said as much in the past. I wasn't discussing any other players, and I'm not aware of a permanent injury Lockers has that he will have to deal with for the rest of his career.DaveO wrote:Rubbish. Lockers has played as long and this season has been more injury prone than Hansen. Lets sell Lockers as well shall we?markill wrote:I'm not sure H is reaching his peak, I think the last 3/4 seasons may have been his peak. The reason I say this is the amount of games he's played in what is already at 28 a long professional career, the appearance that the injuries he suffers take longer to recover now and this will only get worse, and the fact that he is permanently crocked on his wrist that will only get worse and worse.
Hansen crocked? You were at the grand final right? How crocked did he look then?
Rubbish.I'm not saying he hasn't got plenty left in the tank or a lot to offer at Wigan, or that I would wnat to see him go, I just don't think his next contract will see him at the peak of his career, his last contratc has seen to that.
Therefore nothing. Your argument is based on nothing. Therefore, if a mutually agreeable and beneficial deal was made for all parties I don't think you can criticise anyone at this point for making that move.
Hansen has had some great times at Wigan, mostly during this what seems to be his last contract at the club. I hope everything turns out well for all parties involved.

He got that injury playing for Wigan whilst being paid relative peanuts. The injury was made worse because he was asked to put the club before his health and play on when he should have been having surgery. Don't think for one minute he's owed a living by Wigan but I do think he's earned it and to boot, he's one of the best second rowers in SL.markill wrote:No Dave, I simply have a different opinion to you. It seems a crazy decision to let him go.

Re: Hansen
I think it would be slightly risky to let him go now, but there are players in the club whom I think could be very good second rowers with more to their game. It wouldn't surprise me to see him drop out of the first 17 before the end of the year in any event, given Bateman's potential. I like second rowers who will make breaks or can offload, but can see that every team needs its fair share of workers.
CPW may see the tackle he made in the play off, but against that he allowed them to walk through him for a try a few minutes before and Moon only ended up making he break because H was in the wrong position earlier in the move.
He has clearly worked his socks off for the club, (for which he has been paid). If we let him go to someone willing to pay more for him then that's not the worst outcome. I trust IL and co in this. If he has to go, good luck to him wherever he ends up.

Re: Hansen
Hansen on cusp of Salford move
HARRISON Hansen was last night on the verge of completing a move to Salford.
The 28-year-old is thought to have agreed a deal with the ambitious Reds, who could confirm his capture within days.
Talks have dragged on for the past two weeks, but it is understood an agreement has now been reached.
Wigan will be due a fee to compensate them for the final year of his contract.
Hansen, who was unavailable for comment, has spent 10 years in the Wigan first-team and had been granted a joint testimonial for next season with Paul Prescott.
Wigan are expected to travel to face Workington on January 26 in a benefit game for Prescott.
Hansen’s departure would free up money under the salary cap, should Shaun Wane choose to bring in reinforcements.
But the coach already has a wealth of competition for second-row spots.
With Liam Farrell nailing down the left-side spot, Wane could hand ex-London captain Tony Clubb first chance in Hansen’s old spot.
Jack Hughes, Greg Burke and John Bateman – signed from Bradford – are other options, while NRL recruit Eddy Pettybourne can play prop or second-row.
Meanwhile, doubts still hang over the future of Andy Powell. The 32-year-old has been linked with a return to rugby union after just five matches for the Warriors.
Prop Epa Lauaki’s future is also believed to be away from Wigan.
