Wayne went back to basics without shipping the ball out wide just shows by going down the middle and keeping it tight you can win matches and a few off the cuff plays did the job.Makes you wonder if this was the players tactics.

No one has been more rude or dismissive about Matty Bowen than me but last night's performance was exactly what we took him on for. Bags of confidence under the high ball and always looking to get involved.
Credit to SW for some key tactics. MM on the field for the whole match was given regular 'breathers' with Bowen at 1st receiver and SOL was used more as a second-rower than a loose forward.
It was a very old-fashioned display with excellent discipline and simply wore Leeds down, leaving them baffled as to how to play. Best all-round showing by the forwards for ages - Ben Flower makes us a better side when he's on the field.

Maybe just maybe and next game we will Wane has realised that shifting early so often is not working and you got top create space for that to work.
I do know that in the 2003 union world cup the Welsh players including Iestyn Harris when getting turned over by New Zealand very early decided to play the way they wanted and that changed Welsh rugby. If the players did this i would be shocked this is more the coaches and Wane changing tact.

why is it when we Win it cant be Wane but when we Lose it is all his fault.
watched on TV, and when you saw Wane it didnt look like a coach whos team was ignoring his plan, he seemed to get annoyed when we made a error in what looked like a set play.
then there was always his nice comments about Bentham caught on camera
1 games doesnt mean everything is better at wigan same as 1 game shouldnt mean the end of the world. however credit were its due. there was some smart coaching going on. and can anyone tell me they believe Wane the control freak wasnt involved in it?
it was also great to see Mickey Mac on a full 80, he never stopped putting the pressure on and was gutted he didnt quiet make the break to get a try on his 200th game.

I have had enough to say re Shaun Wane in earlier forums and have previously called for him to be replaced. However, on this occasion the only thing I can say is very Well done Shaun for putting the pie back in my gob and not allowing me time to spout off.The tactics employed yesterday where spot on.Dominating down the middle not allowing Leeds forwards to create havoc in our ranks.Micky Mac was simply awesome,Bowen showed why he was brought in rather than young Rocky for this game.George was given MoM. But for me it was down to Micky Mac and the forwards doing the hard yards allowing our backs to shine through.Well done to the team and on this occasion Shaun Wane. Now for a wire win.

I watched the match in my Wigan shirt, my wife in hers, + another 2 Wigan supporters in a pub packed with Rhinos fans less than 5 miles from Leeds city centre. How could I come away from that and only be bothered about our last 2 defeats?
And you are not bitter and twisted as suggested by Brian Ferry's No 1 fan!

That can basked another way as well.
Why is it never Wane's fault when we lose but when we win its him.
There is a hardcore on either side on this and its either the players or Wane when it should always be BOTH.

I agree with you just think we have a few die hards that never see beyond what they want to on both sides.
