This is the thing a lot of people who are one the positive side of things speak like weve already won the CC

Personally i think we will get crushed embarrassingly

Even so to me the league is far more of a representation of where the club is at, Hull KR got to the CC Final in 2015 and look where they are it proves nothing about were the club is at.

It really depends on how you want to spin it, saying "we are current holders of the SL" means nothing to me that was last year, we are current holders of 8th position in a poor league.

I get the distinct impression on this thread that some contributors would not be happy with any coach, unless that coach was an Aussie.

And Leeds won the treble in 2015 then didn't even make the top eight in 2016. They didn't sack McDermott did they?

Leeds once back from their injury crisis played very well something we have not. They also brought in players correctly to address weaknesses like hooker. They played a high standard this season too - moving moon to half back has been a great move

Mcdermott was also publicly threatened that his job would go if performances didn't improve they did and he didn't - if they hadn't like ours haven't I fully expect gh would of sacked him

Well, if people were a bit more precise with what they say...

I don't see any Wane 'lovers' here. Most of those who argue he should stay still have criticisms, want to see an attacking coach employed, squad strengthened, etc. Nobody is claiming he is flawless, and it's dishonest to suggest otherwise.

It's like when people complain that the brand of rugby being offered is poor entertainment, and then someone counters with "So you'd be happy losing 42-40 every game?" Of course not. Again, it's twisting anf caricaturing the arguments of those you disagree with.

I only see Wigan going downhill from here tbh if Wane is still in charge. Even the most basic of desicions over the last 2/3 seasons have been made wrong. Too many blatant mistakes that we can all see on here.

Can't get my head round that comment, D-C. You say "basic" decisions all wrong, including last year when we won the Grand Final ? Can't see what's wrong with that - there's only one team can win that, so plenty of other clubs made some "basic" errors as well !

Additionally, with a full, fresh team we won the World Club Challenge (only one team can win that also). Actually, there's only three trophies a side can possibly win, and we are in the final of that third one !

So what are the "basic" errors compounding our woes, when we have two trophies in the cabinet; what are we doing so wrong that others are doing better over the season ?

So have you just not watched us this year barring the wcc and the cc or are you as pleased with the 8th position in the league with 14 losses and the longest winless streak in over 100 years?

Let's get this right the wcc means jack squat if it did Warrington would be gf contestants they beat the Nrl the easiest and they haven't even made the top 8!!!!
The wcc is a pre season friendly for the the nrl teams I wish people would stop acting like it was some magnificent achievement - sometimes the nrl teams turn up sometimes they don't it's a nice to win game but it means absolutely nothing in terms of the state of the team and where they are at

Getting to the challenge cup final is probably the only decent thing we've done but even that we got an easier run in the draw.

I suppose this is starting to break down into two sets of people one set who look at the team are playing and have been all this current season and one set who simply use the wcc and getting to a final as a good year and just don't reference superleague unless they talk about the fact we won it last year that was LAST YEAR!!!

How can you say that winning the WCC isn't an achievement?

We now stand alone winning the trophy on 4 occasions more than any other club side with that win.

Serious question wf 1985 based on one of your earlier posts, would you rather Wigan finish top of the league each season playing a decent way for arguments sake the way castleford currently are but never win any of the major trophies. Or, play mediocre/poor every year but win one of the major trophies every year?
