I found that one odd that he got a permit seemingly so easily though I thought you had to play so many games first before coming over?

The rules do appear to be confusing, we signed a PNG international before the start of the season but he was denied entry!

Hamlins mother is English, born in Blackpool, so there were no problems.

He was born in 1998, but I think his dad only came to Wigan in 2000 or 2001.
