Tonight's Game & Wigan squad for Hull KR
Re: Tonight's Game & Wigan squad for Hull KR
Miski was and has been excellent. What stands out for me was that cross field kick that led to a try. He showed he is not just a strong runner but a clever , balanced footballer.

Careful, Ted. Before you know it, there'll be a "Marshall to 6" threadWiganer Ted wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2023 11:48 pm The team couldn't have done anymore really.
They played very attractive rugby and was good to watch. HKR lads did try hard but they didn't have any answer to the quality of Wigan's first team squad.
Whether it pays off for Peters we'll find out next week.
Good to see long minutes for Mago, Hill & Nsemba.
Some good moves tried, some came off some didn't.
What the idea was to give Miski tries in the corner and not passing to the inside player who could have gone under the sticks, I don't know but it did make us wonder what was going on!
A lot of play went through Marshall in the 2nd half and was good to see him score towards the end.

On a more serious note, in the build up to a couple of our tries down the left, I noticed Nsemba on an angled dummy run, which possibly helped hold up their defence. Did anybody else see this or was it my imagination?
Good to see Junior developing, keep reminding myself he's only 19.

I’ve not watched the highlights back yet, but that’s what it looked like to me but people were stood up in their seats so maybe I was wrong with how it looked.DaveO wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2023 12:27 pmThere was no one in front of Field and he’d have scored easily. I doubt French knew someone was behind him and two his left was there anyway. Went deliberately for Miski! Trying to get him high try’s score

Watched highlights. Field is covered, french would easily see that. But he'll probably never be good enough for Dave so there's always going to be a negative about French.josie andrews wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2023 2:53 pmI’ve not watched the highlights back yet, but that’s what it looked like to me but people were stood up in their seats so maybe I was wrong with how it looked.DaveO wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2023 12:27 pmThere was no one in front of Field and he’d have scored easily. Disagree, 23 was coming across to cover Field. French did the right thing.

He was definitely covered. Field may have scored anyway but Miski definitely did.

Honestly Josie, that's a massive pot kettle situation. Sometimes your replies seem unnecessarily abrasive when someone says something completely innocuous, especially if you don't agree. Maybe that's just my take due to using exclamation marks.josie andrews wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2023 10:48 amBecause I care about RL! Is that okay? When we played that game against HKR 29.08.22, we had 12 first team players in the the squad & we had just played St Helens & beat them convincingly on the Friday 26.08.22 & this fixture was on the Monday Bank Holiday, it wasn’t the week before any final!
It’s within the rules, it’s the week before one of the biggest games in their history.
However, the points made about us doing it in the past seemed to be being brushed under the carpet by yourself but you're still angry about KR doing it the week before a cup final?

Really Mike? Did you really have to lower the tone of the thread with that made up nonsense about what you think I think about French?Mike wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2023 4:24 pmWatched highlights. Having waged the highlights back myself I can see no 23 is coming up behind and to Fields left but there was no one in front of him and there is no way on planet earth that no 23 is quick enough to catch Field. And if you watched the highlights you can also see Fields reaction. He clearly was exasperated he didn’t get the pass.

Just watched the highlights and what a great set of tries we have scored.
King unselfishly giving it to Miski for the first.
Field was covered by someone for the second try (first viewing French made the right decision).
Mago’s try looked simple but it’s the type of try we rarely score.
Field has his hand in almost everything.
Looks like we are playing traditional 6 and 7 as French was second receiver far more often.
Good practice match to take us into the latter stages of the season. If Mago and KPP can stay fit and we can get Havard in the same lineup as Ellis and Dupree we could have a strong finish on our hands!
