Got a hot rumour from a source inside the club, or just something you heard down the pub? Then what are you waiting for, post it on The Rumour Mill.

Wigan, a prop and contract renewal

Post by cpwigan »

My source tells me that a prop is in talks with the club today. The agent of the prop is Andy Clarke so I presume he must be British based. Whether it is for this season or next I have yet to ascertain.

There are 21 players with NO deal for next year. That's players in the 1st team and U21s. Nobby is paying hard ball with them all. Several of the U21s are looking for new clubs.

Just ours NB. We have a combined total of 21 players up for contract renewal and Nobby is not jumping in with contract offers. So several U21s have ided to look elsewhere.

We can not talk to a prop for next season yet if he is under contract for this season , as I am sure their is a rule forbidding this until later in the season so if we are in talks it must be for this season , his club must have agreed to the talks so maybe their as been some fall out or someone needs a bit of cash at one of the clubs .

With Hill being released on loan and Bradford coming in for Macavoy at the start of the season maybe we have room for someone a transfer fee would not seem to be a problem and dont forget we almost signed King and we must have had some money left from the deal we were offering him .

I think if we could bring in someone it would maybe push us into being a real force as we are doing ok now and we only need a good prop to help us dominate in the forwards .

The story seems to be gathering pace and Crabtree is the player being linked .

For this season .

If it is true then starting with Fielden and crabtree with Fekka Ocarrol coming on as impact would seem quite good we will just have to wait and see .

He is big and would give us good go forward nether noticed him as a week defender but with Nobby coaching his defense would be put rite quick if their were any problems anyway .
