Fielden confesses his form is way off his best

Post by cpwigan »

Excellent interview with Fielden in this weeks Observer. He reveals that he will be rested for GB v France. Several other established players will also be rested as Tony Smith experiments. He openly states that his current form is way off his best although he is not sure why arguing that everything he is doing prep wise is the same, the training facilities are superb and fans give great support. He does say expectations are huge at Wigan. He still travel from Halifax.

Halifax isnt far... 30 mins.

will anyone think the bit about expectation in wigan being high could be an excuse?

its good though that hes open about his form... just hope his prep still goes well and that his on-field game will get itself together

shame about it being the Observer though

It is nice to see that he is admitting and accepting that he isn't in the best of form.

It is also nice to know that he his grateful for our support, so come on, lets stick with him!!!!!

No its not, because it means hes playing rubbish, knowing hes playing rubbish and doing nothing about it. Its time he shut up and did his talking on the pitch.

Bit harsh. He is just stating facts, that's all.

Anyway, we'd all be complaining if he wasn't coming out and admitting that his form hasn't been the best.

Some players just cannot win!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not harsh at all. This guys on megabucks and isn't doing much about his form. If he knows its bad, do something about it. It's easy enough to write about it, but actions speak louder than words.

Well, I suppose this debate could run forever but the bottom line is that instead of slating him, we need to get behind him and he needs our backing.

Although he has been way off form so far I cannot see how you can say he's doing nothing about it. How do you know he's not. Are watching him in training or have a personal insight. NO . One of the things Nobby said when he signed him was his proffessionalism and the way he conducted himself off the field, hoping his attitude would rub off on the other players. He has had a poor season by his standards but to say he's doing nothing about it is ridiculous
