The RLFansite and it says that someone saw Barrett and the rest of the lads going into chadwicks in Standish (where/whatever that is).

It also says on that site that he had an ice pack with him, and also speaking to a close source of mine today, they said they saw the lads and a few of them looked "very sore".

You've got to ask yourself is Ashton 100% fit yet? Considering he had ankle ligament damage, a week is an EXTREMELY quick time to recover.

It depends on the nature of the damage. Some players can carry on for months with ligament injuries, waiting until the end of the season to get them operated on. Other ligament injuries are severe enough to require surgery much earlier, although I suspect that's as much to do with the fact it can take nearly a year to recover from a reconstruction so by having the operation earlier the player will be fit again a bit earlier. They might not be fully fit, but in a sport with limited team resources available, so long as the player is happy at being able to run, and subject to medical clearance, then they may well be able to play on for several weeks.

Just as an example, I had a bike accident about 2 1/2 years ago, and the combined effect of having my 12 stone weight and the bike wrapped wrong my knee didn't do my ligaments much good at all. But I was able to get back on the bike and carry on (albeit painfully) with the journey. After a day or two I found I could barely move the knee at all, and when I finally got some treatment for it they confirmed it was ligament damage, but it's not the same as having a broken leg/ankle when you really couldn't use the limb properly. Ligaments stretch and tear, but in many cases you do retain a lot of movement.

My close source said that Ashton was (I hate to alarm anybody) SLIGHTLY limping, which made them think that he has not fully recovered yet.

Maybe you are right Fraggle, it looks like one of the scenario's that you have mentioned in your posts about players carrying ligament injuries playing for months.

Looks like that is what Ashton is going to have to do, until Whithers is fit.

I also agree with OAM. I hope they are all ok for tomorrow.

I'll bet there are going to be more players doing fitness tests than warming up before the match.

It just says "Barrett and the rest of the lads" on the RLFansite.

Wasn't Ashton there then? I just presumed that mean all the Wigan Warriors first team squad but I could be wrong.

I thought they may have been training today.

There is something called an important RL match going on tomorrow where we face the best team in the league - Leeds Rhino's.

I am not saying starve them, on the other hand, I am not saying stuff them full of food and drink just (less than) 24 hours before a BIG game.

We do not want them getting stomach cramp or sickness do we?!?!?!

I ate 19 hours before a swimming competition once and I was in pain from the first minute till the last.

I know I have mentioned Ashton before, but I did not mention Ashton in my previous post.
