However, unless your are actually Brian Noble, to state that Goulding is very much part of his plans, is more in line with wishful thinking and is mere supposition from the fans, Their is a chance that Noble may have lined up a better centre (in his own opinion), so don't be too upset to see one signed.

I understand that Geoff, only what the fans want and what the coach/chairman invisage in the side, frequently do not correspond!

We may prefer to outlay the bulk of our freed up cap money on players in other positions, whilst signing cheaper alternatives in positions that fans feel need better players.

The big thing in Goulding's favour is cost, he's going to be much cheaper than many of the alternatives and like every team, we need some of these younger, cheaper players to offset the expense of your Barrett's and Fielden's.
