I just thought I would ask you all about your views on Simon Haughton being forced out of Wigan.
I for one am heartbroken. :'(
Anyone fancy coming to Orrell with me?

its a shame
I thought he would have a bright future at Wigan, but he's had loads of injuries.
He never quite lived up to the potential of his first full season.

When i saw Simon at the start of the season i really thought he would hit top form again this year.He looked to of lost a little weight and looked in really good shape coming on against Bradford.Then it all went horribly wrong.Two high shots on Bradford forwards and a bad missed tackle on Peacock surely put him out of favour again.With the high shots it was clear to see he was trying really hard.He was maybe trying too hard to make an impact.
After that we saw a few substitute appearances but not really anything that gave us a glimpse of the old Simon Haughton.In fact the years of being out in the cold had effected him badly IMO.He seemed very unfit especially at the scrums.His body language said it all and he looked shattered at times.What he needed was an extended run in the team to get him match fit again and im sure he would of hit top form again.
With Wilde,Tickle,Cassidy,Furner and Stuart Jones all covering second row he was never going to get this extended run.Maybe it is for the best that hes gone to Orrell.He was never going to get his place back by just sitting on the sidelines and was just wasting away.
His dad Andy has said there someone at Wigan who didnt want him in the team or something to that effect.IMO,it was either Lindsay which i doubt or Farrell.If it was Lindsay then i doubt he would of wanted him at Orrell and Simon would not of wanted to go.Maybe it was Farrell? After all we know that both players like to play down the left in the centres.Was there room for two players who like to play in very similar parts of the field?

sorry i have to disagree, simon going is no loss to the club, the man became lazy and to be honest a defensive liability. he has had chances this year and didnt impress by either getting himself suspended or just by under performing and getting him off the wage bill will not only help get us under the salary cap but should help us improve the squad for next season and beyond
