Drop the Warriors from Wigan

Post by BriH »

Maybe the new owner might like to consider reverting back to Wigan - without the Warriors.
I personally always refer to Wigan as plain, simple Wigan.

Keep the Warriors name in Wigan, Wigan Rugby League Football Clubs sound very old fashioned now.

Wigan Warriors sounds more modern and suits a team looking to the future not looking back at the past.

I am one for tradition and honour. I for one would like to see Wigan R.L.F.C. on my shirt like generations have gone before me

It depends on your age I think and how our current marketing applies to you.

I'm more affiliated with WRLFC (being an child of the 70s old-fart) but my 6 year old daughter loves going to Max's club before the game and always calls us Wigan Warriors. She always looks forward to seeeing Max.

Leave well enough alone because the marketing department is one of our few sucess stories of late. Our name is the least of our current problems!!!
