Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

have widnes gone into liquidation?

Post by the grinch »

thats the story going around! and terry o'conner said on tv before the game with cas that if widnes didnt win they would be in bad shape to continue maybe have to go part time. if this is true its a massive blow for the game widnes in the 70s and early 80s where the team that won everything. sad day if true.

why on earth would they do that, when we have teams like leigh floating around who are somehow still full time

i hope this isn't true. widnes is good, i like watching them on sky and they have some good players (mainly former wiganners, minus moron), would be a loss to the game. nice ground to.

no swearing please.

Sad if they do go into trouble, just shows how fragile our game is beyond the 'big 6'

Probably gone back to being part time seeing as there is no promotion next year.

Most of NL1 is part time.

I'd have thought they'd be concentrating on a franchise application though; their ground qualifies (the smell isn't their fault...) and they've got the fan base.

my son plays rugby in widnes and the talk is that the backers are pulling out. also rumour last season that the players did not get paid for 2 months because their was no money at the club :conf:
