Korky from Salford

Got a hot rumour from a source inside the club, or just something you heard down the pub? Then what are you waiting for, post it on The Rumour Mill.

Not quite as strong as you feel about it Morph, I dont rate him that much either. Thats maybe why he has always been playing for clubs on average, well into the lower half of Superleague. Too inconsistant for my liking, compared to what we need at this club.

IMO, there are not that many high quality, effective props worldwide - compared to 10/20 years ago, when you could name numerous from GB/NZ and Australia!

Most are glorified second rowers, or poor mans Paul Harrigans (cheap shots). Korkidas, whilst not a brilliant prop, is not a bad one either. For all his views of him, in his time at Salford last season, he was still one of the greatest metre making forwards in the competition, as he was for two out of the three years he spent at Wakefield.

So if you want a prop to make yardage, give good field position, and sometimes, maybe, "ruffle a few feathers" - then Korkidas is the man.

Just been confirmed on teletext, Korki has signed a 2 year deal with Castleford.
So thats another one off the list.

Can't say I'm all that bothered, who know's the reason we haven't signed him. Maybe Nobby never even wanted him. If he was so good he would have been playing for better teams than Wakefield and Salford. No disrespect to either club, but they aren't the highest flyers in the league in relation to either fanbase or facilities.

See!

My write up attracted the attention of the Tigers who have now signed him on my recommendation

As for comments from some that Korkidas has not play for any good clubs, hence we shouldn't be considering such a player - thank goodness you have absolutely no running over the club, otherwise we would never have seen the vast majority of signings that did actually sign, and wear the Wigan shirt with distinction.

Very likely. Most rumours are pure speculation from fans based on players someone might like to see at the club or simply based on who is out-of-contract, and have little if any real basis in truth.
