Where has the money gone?

Post by ddtftf »

Where has the money gone? We have lost 5 players on big contracts and have a credit note from the RFL for £230 000 so why is there only £140 000 in the pot. Would our new owner please explain in simple terms the reason for the lack of spending avaliable?

In Ian Lenagans BBC interview he said the credit note was over a 4 year period so that may explain part of the missing money. The players leaving surely should have allowed more than £140k cap space.

Unless, as has been suggested, we were well over the cap last year?

That means that £57 500 00 is part of the £140 000 therefore only £82.500.000 is left from this years salary cap money.

Don't you think that Mr Lenagan should be open with the fans & tell us the truth? that way he would have the respect from us that at last we have a true picture of the club finances and end all the speculation of hidden adjenda within the club, its about time the true facts are told.

100% Guranteed imo.

I can't see how we can't be unless the lads that have left were playing for binmans wages.

No if he comes out and says the club are in dire straits this could put off potential investors and sponsors. I think he has done the right thing giving the fans a bit of realism that he's not in a position to be spending a fortune on signings.

If thats the case the RFL will not allow any signings since next years cap is supposedly monitored on an ongoing basis?
