There are lots of players in the second grade who cannot get into the NRL but are quality players at the right price, we dont seem to look to South Africa any more for players such as Ray Morte & Nick Du- Toite who played for Wigan and was a powerfull second row & winger & if i am not mistaken Van Vollenhoven the St Helens winger. A lot of the stars of today in the NRL were playing in the lower div a year ago( Chris Inu ), and there are lots of great players in NZ coming through that we could sign at the right price,. { The Paul brothers were un-heard of before they came here} & some of the junior Kiwi could be a great investment( Kevin Iro and Tony).Maybe instead of in the past, we had people going to Aus for a holiday under the guise of seeing players, we could have genuine scouts looking for quality players in the fringe div to sign at the right price for the club.
And for the people who asked, the info on a prop signing for Wigan came from the guy who runs the lottery at Wigan, and Dave Hodgeson said that Lockers knows of no new signings for the club.
