Re: nobby
he said he wants to finish his career in aus but i can see him signing a 2 year contract with us cause knowing nobby he will want to win something with this team. If he leaves he will have a place in my heart as a wigan coaching legend cause of the way he coaches our team.

Re: nobby
The question we've got to ask ourselves is: Who else is there who's better?
Short of taking on a top NRL first-grade coach, which could happen but is pretty unlikely, I can't think of anyone else who I'd want instead of Nobby. There's certainly no-one currently coaching in Britain.
The Nobster has worked miracles with extremely limited resources. When he took over we were 6 points clear at the bottom. A season and a half later, we finished third and reached the SF of the Challenge Cup.
Hopefully, if we can recognise this, the new management will be able to as well.

You have to also ask - Who else would get a snack line named after them?

But what would Shaun Edwards bring to the table apart from a respected name?stevo38 posted:
maybe shaun edwards is name as been linked with lenaghan for quite some time ?
It's many years now since he's been involved in RL, and his coaching credentials are all in RU. He'd definitely be enthusiastic for the club, but so was Denis Betts.
My personal suspicion is that Edwards was close to Lenagan for the simple reason that they were both Wiganers living 'in exile' in London. Shaun still follows RL, and it seems logical that he'd attend Harlequins matches, especially as he's one of their ex-players. We mustn't automatically conclude that just because Edwards is a friend of Lenagan, it means they'll soon be working together. Similar assumptions were made about Peter Moran, and then look - it transpired that he and Lenagan were only seen together at functions because they're cousins.
Shaun Edwards might have a future coaching role at Wigan, but he'd have to serve time as an assistant-coach first, and I'm not sure he'd be prepared to do that.

Re: nobby
IMO it all boils down to his working relationship with the new management/owners, and how he is allowed to progress the team (future signings etc). After all, he will have completed his contract, which in life, most of us aim to acheive. I would have no complaints if he left, although would be dissapointed, as i think he is a smashing coach.stevo38 posted:
his contract expires next year ,do you think he will want to stay on or will the new regime have other ideas ? any thoughts on this one anyone ?
