Seems likewe are stuck with the three amego's. Sky has the contract for the next three years. promising 100 games a season. 70 sl and 29 nl.

NRL is quality its good that you are getting it in the UK.But if Setanta Australia is anything to go by the coverage would be shite.

I dont mind the sky sports coverage of the ESL its quite good (we get the sky sports feed in Australia) there (fox sports and sky sports) owned by the same company.

Compared to the other possible commentators, I still think that Eddie and Stevo are the best of the bunch. Whatever faults Sky might have, their coverage is still better than anything the BBC can do, and the little I've heard about Setanta's coverage of other live sport makes it sound like they're the worst of the lot. Sky pump a lot of money into our sport, and it's still a high profile sport for them so I'm happy with the deal. And I say that as someone who doesn't even have access to Sky anymore! Obviously if their production values and level of coverage were on the BBC or one of the Freeview channels I'd be delighted, but instead I'll settle for getting other people to record games for me (problem of living in a property that cannot have Sky installed for legal reasons...)

Thats the thing they pump lots of money into the game.I doubt anyone could come close in England.

We have the same problem with channel 9 in Australia its pretty crap (ch9 makes sky sports look awesome i tell ya right now) but they pump money into the game like no tomorrow.

The compromises you have to make i guess. :conf:

With ESPN apparently entering the bidding war for Football coverage rights in this country, expect smaller and smaller slices of the "money pie", going to all other sports.

The SKY and Setanta obsession for football may have a financial penalty that all the other remaining sports will have to pay for years to come.
