I think that demoing the new site is going to be tougher than I thought. The changes that I have made are not compatible with the current site. There muight be a way of running them both at the same time, I will look into it.
In the meantime, here are some screenshots of what I am thinking the new site may look like. It is wider and more contained away from the background. What do you think?

How about the option to filter out posts by a specifc user, could be set up in the My Control Panel.
select the user (s) you don't want to see posts from, and then when you go to the message board you don't see them.
this would resolve all the squabbling that went on earlier this year

Possibly an RSS feed for the news or Message board?
saves having several RSS feeds for BBC etc.

I am quite close to having a version of the new site that I will release. Unfortunately its awkward to have two concurrent versions running, so I'm going to bite the bullet and go live straight away (not usually a wise move!). Everyone's help in pointing out broken links and misssing functions will be most helpfull.
One of the major changes will be that everyone will have permissions to update lots of the content on the site. It will work very much like wikipedia in this respect. I am hoping this will encourage the users of the site to maintain an uptodate and compresensive resource about Wigan, rather than that task being done by just a few people. Becuase of this opening of access, we will need moderators for each section of the site to protect against vandalism, duplication and poor english. Is anyone interested in doing this job?
The sections that are open will include News, Profiles, Past Seasons, Directions, Stadiums and more.
