The article says so but not what channel number

"Channel M is available on free to air in Manchester, Virgin Media channel 878 in the Greater Manchester area, and nationally on Sky Channel 203".

You have to be in Manchester itself to get it through terrestrial. It is definitely available via on Sky, though - we get it OK at home.

Iam on Vigin media and live in Wigan and should be getting this channel but cant ,
Sent email to Channel M and this is his reply

Dear John

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately our VirginMedia coverage is restricted to the former NTL areas; however, you are in the former Telewest area, so 878 will be unavailable.

You can still receive Channel M via normal terrestrial TV on channel 39 (615.25 MHz). You may need a high-gain, wide-band aerial as our transmitter power is fairly low due to our Restricted Service License, and Ch 39 is in a different part of the frequency band to most of the local transmitters (which are around Ch 60).

Alternatively, we can be received via Sky Digital or via free-to-air satellite (Eurobird 1).

Also there is a lot of programming available on our website http://www.channelm.co.uk/

Please let me know if you require any further assistance.

Regards

Since sent email to Virgin Media awaiting their reply as to how can they discriminate their own coverage areas.

That explains a lot, I was wondering why I couldn't get a proper signal despite living just a mile from the centre of Manchester...
