Thoughts on Bradford (seperate from preds)

Thought we needed a thread for people to air their views away from the little predictions league, so here goes:

If we cut out the errors which we made in the games against Castleford and Hull and therefore complete our sets and take points from our chances created (like we did at Quins), then we have a chance. We can't afford to bomb five tries this week because we won't get many more opportunities.

Our strike rate will however have to be 100% if we are going to insist on piggy backing Bradford up field with penalty after penalty and missed tackle after missed tackle. We need to get in the faces of their pack and put them off their game. Our backs will out think theirs if they are given the platform from the pack.

Team: Mathers, Calderwood/Colbon, Goulding, Carmont, Richards, Barrett, Leuluai, Fielden*/Feka, McIlorum, Coley, Hock, Hansen, O;Loughlin.
Subs: Feka/O'Carroll, Prescott, Higham, Tomkins.

*I would only play Fielden if he is 100% and able to play without an injection. Get him right rather than possibly lose him for longer.

Good points. We need to play a conservative game and aim for mistake-free this week. Forget trying to score lots of tries - the points will come if we complete our sets and keep good field position. With the talent we have we will cross the line but Bradford will punish us at the other end if the ill-discipline and bad decision-making we have shown in recent games happens again.

I think to win this game we will need a very solid defence. Defence wins you games. I also think our pack will need to stand up and be counted, hopefully stu will be back and if he is he will be back with a vengance and ready to kick some bradford but. As nine said we do need to complete our sets, if we knock on say inside our own 40 Bradford will punish us. Feild position will be a key. On the sets that we dont score from, we will need to move the ball past the Bradford 30. This gives the bulls less of an oppotunity. No silly mistates or penalties and hopefully its 2 more points in the bag.

Ye i totaly agree matt, defence will be key in this game, we can't have any silly mistakes that result into a try. hopefully we will get a cuple of tries and win the game, 2 points on the board should keep us 2nd in the table

We should beat Bratfort but i agree our defense has got to be up to it we stilll have a tendancy to let triess in under our sticks and this as got to stop. Ig fieldens is not 100% he should not play, it is a long hard season and we need him in the team

if we make the same amount of mistakes we have done in the first 3 games we will lose this game. But i think we will be a lot stronger on saturday 3 games in we should be up to the pace of the game now and hopefully an end to seeing us give piggy backs up the field like we did against hull.

I'm saying a 20 - 14 win to wigan

The conditions may dictate the game. If it continues to rain then it will have to be a tight game with excellent kick/chase tactics. Newton is out which is good news. I worry about Jefferies if he plays. Far more dangerous than Deacon/Harris IMO. They will also have a big set of backs with Hape moving back to centre, Tupu and Tadulala on the wings. Hopefully Finnigan will play as he is a defensive disaster.

O'Carrel to drop out for me. Tomkins will need to be on the bench to give Hock/Hansen a breather.
