Do we trust this new ownership ?
On 5 Live Extra between the WC challenge halves there was an interview with Nobby.
Apparently this new board hasn't even mentioned carrying on after this season.
He (Noble) wants to but there's nowt on the table yet.
What's going on ?!!

out of contract, is a more pressing problem for the new administration. Plus, it might be a little of "wait and see" for Nobby, just in case his wage demands have grown too!

on stupid expensive long term deals, the season is 4 weeks old, lets see
what happens, but if Leneghan doesnt see Nobby as the future, then so be
it, its his club, Hes not done bad so far!

Not only did he save us from relegation but he also took us to 2 semi finals last season. That on it own should be worth a rather hefty wage rise.

You two are contradicting one another!! Why start "levelling out" player's wages - then say that Noble can claim a "hefty wage rise", just for stopping the side from getting relegated. Not even won anything yet either. God help the club when a coach does win a trophy, fans will be demanding "football style" wages as a "thank you" for the manager!!!Nobby's Girl wrote:IL and JL both said the last thing the club needs now is a new coach, if anything is going to be changed this season, then its the current players and their wage`s. They said they can’t understand that certain players are on double and maybe more than other players in the same team. There is going to be some players un- happy with the new contracts regarding the money. This could also cause a few players to move away from our club, think about it, if you were to be offered an new contracts with half of what you were previously paid, What would you do?
Lennagen`s general idea is to try and level out the players wages.

In answer to your question Gimble
Wayne Bennett, and he is a free agent at the end of the year. Rumour has it hes going to Stains
I would prefer Nobby myself.

Re: Do we trust this new owner...
i thought nobby had a four year contract, not done two years yet.
Re: Do we trust this new owner...
What Nobby has done is success. NOt in terms of winning trophies, but the side is now solid. Were in a much better shape. The last time we looked solid was when Mike Gregory was in charge. But even then we were losing players due to the cap.butt monkey wrote:thegimble wrote: Not only did he save us from relegation but he also took us to 2 semi finals last season. The new owners are also to be commended for this as the club in general seems better.
As for Bennett going to Saints hed be a very good coach for them but id go as far to say Nobby is a better coach. Its easy to coach a side that oozes class and wins trophies. But Nobby has proved not only can he win trophies but he can coach a bottom of the table side as well.
Re: Do we trust this new owner...
"Levelling out" of wages is ok, in theory, but only up to a point. Theb
youngsters would undoubtedly be pleased, but I'm not sure that the
likes of Barrett would.
Imagine you've got £1.5m to share out between our present first team squad:
How would you like to see the wage structure?
Bearing in mind what some of our top players could command at another club?
