Watched Melbourne and New Zealand warriors on Monday night on Setanta nice to see a game without the merry whistle blower spoiling it .If the game had played in UK with our refs there would have been loads of penalties there were numerous occasions were the players did not have both feet behind the line.

I thought the referees looked quite weak. The ruck speed was really slow, the defensive side had plenty of time to get set after every tackle. They don't seem bothered about implementing to the new ruling of 2 feet on the line either. Why implement new rules if they're not going to be used.
If this style of refereeing were to be implemented in SL the referees would get the same stick for allowing messing about at the ruck and for players being offside at every single PTB.

Which is the better product Rob?
Bill Harrigan was at his peak rated the best referee in the world and famously known for never awarding more than a couple of penalties in a game.

I think the idea is that SL will be if all players improved their discipline. Improved discipline in the home division - stronger international side.
