barrett said he was happy with wigan and has 20 months of his contract left

Just to echo what Mike said , Barrett was asked if he wanted to use the training facilities while he was over in Aus his mum lives in Canberra , they also asked his agent if Barrett was happy , his reply was he was happy and he never took up the offer on the training . :cool:

Now this is just what I've heard from a friend in OZ so don't shoot me I'm just posting what I've been told.About 5 months ago i was told by a friend in Oz that their was a strong rumour that Wigan were trying to unload Barrett for next season,because ST George will stop subsidising Barrett's wages from the end of this season and IL doesn't want Wigan to have to pick up the difference in Barrett's contract as it will be harder to keep us under the salary cap.I just hope that this is a load of rubbish. :doz: so maybe there is a reason why Canberra came in with a bid.

i was always under the impresison mid-winter that he did train over there with an NRL club...!


anyway i wansn't saying he was on his way...merely asking if we believed there was any possibility!


reports suggest it is true that we have to up our pay on his wages as of end of this season...
