You leave Stevie G alone. He had a blinder

However, I defy even Rob to come up with an excuse for that one. Come to think of it, I hate praising Ganson let alone any referee. What is this forum coming to?

Ganson had a good game Mike, you have to sing from the roof tops for that one.

My sentiments as well, just be grateful for small mercies and pass on.

I aint Ganson, nor a Referee. But I have a mate who is.

The "Surrender" call is when an Attacking player surrenders in a tackle. (Prime example, Paul Wellens).

However, it doesn't mean the player is HELD!.. The defending team must then complete the tackle. If you watch a reply of Leeds incident, you will see that Carmont doesn't actually complete the tackle on the leeds player (i think it was L.Smith). And could therefore continue play.

I thought you'd be a fan of match officials this week, what with interpretations of potential forward passes

Surrender means the player has surrendered to the tackle, the tackle isn't complete until he's touched though or the referee calls the tackle number or 'held' to show the player has succumbed to the tackle.
