I didn't think he was bad today.

Still wouldn't trust him with an SL game though - especially Wigan vs Hull KR!! :D :D

you can't judge a referee on a game like that. it'd be obvious to say he did ok because nothing was or could be contentious. he still missed numerous forward passes and let the pia lads play the old style offside but the result was never in doubt so he just had to be there to blow the whistle and point his hand to the floor every five mins. i wouldn't want him to do a superleague game, there aree better refs at the lower level that deserve to step up more than him.

Yes, I did enjoy the game today Martin Taylor. As did (probably) everyone else who went.

I thought Laughton was sensible, allowing the Pia lads to lie on a bit in the tackle and not penalising them for every offside was just common sense.
His actions were never going to affect the outcome, and allowed the Pia lads a bit of time to catch their breath.
A part time team were never goiung to have the fitness levels of a Superleague outfit.
What he did just allowed the game to flow a little better IMO

The best refereeing performances come from officials that are inconspicuous!
