PITCH MAINTENANCE BEGINS
Tractors tore up the Galpharm Stadium pitch Yesterday. It is the first of five consecutive days of work which will result in a brand new playing surface at the home of the Giants.
Workers will be toiling throughout the night until Monday to relay the turf and giantsrl.com caught up with Galpharm Stadium Managing Director Ralph Rimmer who explained the process:
“The tractors are taking the entire surface away this week, which will only leave the DeSo in place – basically, this means that the plastic mesh will remain but everything else goes.â€
