Bipolar????

The place is depressing enough!!

It would be a gamble and we have not got a good record in that department. We need established players that will deliver. We ought not be in the business of ressurecting careers.

Jeez we have gone from a retiring club to a re-hab club.

This is Wigan not Featherstone!!!!!

id actually be willing to give this lad a chance, after all he did win the daily M rookie of the year award in 2005 so he must be talented. Seen him play a few times on the box and he does look a talent. But health comes first.

Just took a little snipet out of an article...

Tim has been touted as the most naturally skilled halfback in the NRL with the ability to land precsion kicks and passes with incredible accuracy. With 40 try assists in his debut season Smith entered the NRL scene with a bang, he was labeled as the next 'Joey' and 'Sterlo'.

apparently he suffers from Bipolar syndrome (manic depression to you and me) same as Andrew (Joey)Johns :doz:
FORMER Parramatta half-back Tim Smith is set to resurrect his rugby league career in England, with Super League giants Wigan leading the race for his second coming.

Smith quit the NRL and the Eels just 52 days ago, citing his battle with bipolar disorder, and returned home to family on the Gold Coast to escape media scrutiny.

He was officially released by the Eels two weeks later, who paid out part of his contract, and has since taken up work as a carpenter for three days a week.

But Smith is understood to be keen on relaunching his football career in England and away from the intense media spotlight he's endured throughout his short and dramatic career.

With 40 assists in his first season, he looks like a quality player.

Joey Johns was the best player in the world during his time despite his depression, ecstasy and drink problems.

Surely this tim smith could overcome his depression problems.

As long as he doesn't do a 'Joey Johns' who admitted he was high on drugs when he was playing we don't want that at Wigan do we? :conf:

I hope he can play as well as Johns but without any help from drugs :exc:

Great! this should be fun. Indeed, we are Wigan, not Featherstone.

IL's ratings are going downhill for me, turning into the second coming of uncle Mo at this rate, but still, lets not judge, only an initial reaction.
