Looks like we may be signing Ali Lauiti'iti for next season (or sooner). This story states that he has been released and given permission to start talks imediately with other clubs. It states we have already made a bid worth $500,000 per year for him.
I doubt he would be able to join this season because of the salary cap, although if he does, maybe it will shed some light on why the cap is so tight for us this year. Perhaps the board were holding back a chunk for this player??? (I have no info that this is the case at all - I'm just speculating).
More likely that he could join next season, but may have to find a short-term contract elsewhere until then.
