JAMIE Thackray believes he is playing well enough to earn a Super League contract next year - whether that is with Hull FC or not.
The 28-year-old prop has been one of the better performers since returning to the club from Leeds Rhinos earlier this season.
Many fans believe his performances have already done enough to secure a contract for 2009.
A Challenge Cup winner with FC in 2005, the powerful forward makes no secret of the fact he wants to remain with the black and whites in 2009.
But he stressed he has not thought about his long-term future at the KC Stadium.
"I am not thinking about playing for a contract" said Thackray, who almost hung up his boots at the start of the season.
"I just love winning and love playing rugby. I always play with enthusiasm and my focus is on helping the team.
