Your Position if you played for Wigan?

Post by ancientnloyal »

If, by some chance, Ian Millward signed you up to play for Wigan in 2006... or are/was even good enough in the 50s, 60s, 70s etc and played for Wigan, what would your position be?

When I played they called me The Eel as I was 'slippery in the tackle'... right Centre or left wing (i cant pass to my left as good as my right)

So I would wear the #3 or #2 shirt.

Played Prop/Second row for Parkside and leigh East then Leigh Academy in early 90's.

About 17st at the moment so i'd say prop.

Dunno really I'd have to ask the resident genius (CPW) which position would suit best.

Like Fielden 2nd row, Hock at prop and Barret at lock!!!!!!!!!!!

Number 8, always played prop, 7 years for Millom, same size as Feka (well maybe a little bigger  )

Unfortunately it would change with age. Started as a centre. Played some stand off too. As the waist expanded and the years multiplied loose forward then to prop.

I was a decent left centre with a good right hand hand off, played above my age group etc but unfortunately I am of an age when RL was in the doldrums and they made us play Union so I ended up playing an awful lot of football instead.

Sounds silly now but back then if you were from Standish or Shevington, RL was virtually non existent.
