Warrington Wolves today (Tuesday 29th July) confirmed at a press conference at the offices of their new main shirt sponsor Vestas, that James Lowes has been appointed permanently as Head Coach of the Super League side.
The 38-year-old Lowes, who took charge following Paul Cullen's departure on 27th May, has signed a one year contract.
Lowes was initially appointed until the end of the season but has impressed the Wolves board with six wins in seven games, leaving the Wolves currently in 4th spot in the Super League table. Interest in the coaching role was extremely high, from both sides of the globe, leading to plenty of speculation as to whom would be appointed. Warrington Wolves' Chairman Lord Hoyle is delighted to hand the role to the up and coming English coach, he said:
"James along with the players has been instrumental in our recent success - 4th in the table and six wins out of seven since he took charge initially on a temporary basis."
