Farewell Hilton Park

i no i am a wigan fan but i have got a fre ticket for the match today and i have been there a few times in my life watchin wigan v leigh and other games. so i can say i will miss the place as it has bin there for 61 years and should be an emotional day for some. but this could not be there last game if they get into fourth place.

I remember Leigh hammering us on more than one occasion at Hilton Park. Des Drummond run us ragged once or twice, I seem to remember. It will make good land for growing potatoes.

I presume you mean because of all the "fertiliser" that's been on it all these years...?

last time i was at hilton park was sat on the terraces eating black peas and some dodgy fireworks from an 'award winning' company.
and pre-season when we got soaked.
many happy a time in days gone by, always used to go to chippy across the road near Glebe Street before matches

last time i was at hilton park was in mick martyn lounge for my cousins wedding!
you have to admit it was a dive, there were worms coming through the cracks in the terraces!

Hope the chips tasted better than the dodgy fireworks you were eating!!
I would love to regale everyone with happy memories of my visits to Hilton Park. Sadly, there aren't any!
I will simply say, "Goodbye Mr Chips"!!
