Yes another Aussie is being linked with Wigan (although rather tenuously by the Aussie media). This time, Paramatta winger Eric Grothe jnr :eh:
Grothe - whose name has been synonymous with the Parramatta club since his father's stellar career in the blue and gold in the early 1980's - has already been linked to English Super League clubs including Wigan.

Hagan admits a combination of poor form and fresh, upcoming talent in the ranks has left Grothe on the outer.

No, someone claimed we enquired:-
The above linked story said:
It is believed the Eels inquired about whether Grothe, who has two more years remaining on his current deal with the club, would be prepared to move after a column item appeared in a magazine linking him with English giants Wigan.
I've not heard of anyone here mentioning that they'd seen in any magazine, it might have been The Beano for all we know. Or nothing at all and his manager has made it up, which wouldn't be the first time.

The talented but inconsistent winger – who has infamously declared his music career took precedence over rugby league – has been given permission to talk to other clubs after failing to hold down a place in the Eels’ lineup.

But Grothe’s manager Roy Spagnolo says the player doesn’t want to leave.

“At this stage, he’s not going anywhere,” Spagnolo told Fairfax.

“He’s happy to stay where he is.”

Grothe has been linked to Super League club Wigan but Spagnolo the English giants had made no real offer to the 28-year-old.

“There’s been no real discussion,” Spagnolo said. “It was just an inquiry from them. No one’s really sat down and spoken to Eric. It’s just been in passing.

Why the hell should we be considering another aussie? If he's not good enough for them why do they think he's good enough for us?Perhaps it's just some aussie hack peeved with our olympic success deciding to create a non news item!
