Mounis cited for strike and found guilty - one match

Post by josie andrews »

Catalans Dragons have been handed a major disciplinary worry ahead of Saturday’s engage Super League play-off semi-final against Wigan Warriors.

Loose forward Gregory Mounis, who has missed only one match all season, has been charged with allegedly striking an opponent on the ground with his elbow during the Dragons’ 46-8 win over Warrington Wolves in their opening play-off tie.

Mounis was cited by the Rugby Football League’s match review panel and will face a disciplinary hearing tomorrow on a grade C charge, which carries a ban of up to four matches.

Does anyone think he will be banned? The RFL will want to keep the dream alive for les cats and give them every chance to get to the GF at the expense of us. But Wigan don't need any help to get to the final we can do it on our own. Come on the Warriors.

This is a major surprise. I thought for all the world that he was going to get away with a fine as usually happens at this time of the season....

Good times!
