Ganson is having a cracking game in my opinion.

That was the best when he said to Fielden/Peacock, "you're supposed to be best mates aren't you? Lets have no falling out come on".

Absolute classic line!!!!

He was right about the shouting/swearing as well. He said that if the captains don't deal with it then he will.

Spot on Ganson.

Well we got to half in tact. Good game. Pity Pat put smiths ball down.Only 4 points in it. Lighting causing problems.Hopefully webb will have the bad end this half. Mathers is not that bad. Ball lost in the lightings.
Come on

All done now

Wigan lost - it was close but not close enough. I felt that had we taken the lead; then the match might have been ours. As it was; a couple of things went against us.

Positives first.

Thought the team stuck together well and took the brunt of the onslaught that we had to face. Had we had a bit more field position then there is every chance we could have scored and turned the tide.

Had Pat kept his feet when he mugged smith for the high ball in the first half; then we would have been looking at a different match

All the team tackled well; Calderwood had one of his best performances in a Wigan shirt. Everyone tried their hardest and I don't think that any player deserves criticism in what was a very high pressure match.

Even at the death; we kept trying to make a game of it.

Lastly (and this one is a bit desperate), had we beaten leeds tonight; then I very much doubt we would have beaten the scum.

Negatives

For all the people who say Wigan slow down and interfere; I would invite them to look at that match. Leeds should have been penalised for lying on and flops countless times. The amount of highshots and leading forearms/knees special mention for jailbird bailey here that went unpunished was shocking. If they play like that next week they won't be offered the same protection and I would imagine that the stains will be 50 on them.

smith should have been sent off; his feet are his concern; if he doesn't know where the tackled player is; then he shouldn't lash out. Saying he didn't know Bailey was there is rubbish. So if Feka had closed his eyes and walked through the leeds team throwing haymakers, could he have used the same excuse? Of course not. Pity the RFL will be too gutless to ban him.

Slap head senior was given free reign to do whatever he wanted. He ran in throwing punches (cheap shots as usual - no surpries that he legged it once Feka squared up to him); add in half a dozen swinging arm high-shots - including one when Hansen scored and it is a mystery to me why he wasn't sent off - fat boy ganson had enough chances

diskin should have gone for the tackle on Fielden; it was far worse than Mathers leading arm red - or McIlorum's tackle on gardner. I am sure that the RFL will say no further action ala tadulala's WWF move on Phelps though

Lastly webb - penalised twice for dissent after the captains were warned - yet no sin bin. Wonder if we would have been so lucky?

Anyway, I don't care who wins the GF - season is over until the world cup as far as I am concerned (unless someone does the decent thing and decapitates long!)

Thought Smith should have got 10 and Senior deserved 10...if they slowed the play why didnt we?...

Season over again...another trophyless season...I know we have been a class act in the last 2 weeks but another trophyless season sits sour for me.

Nice sum up Matthew

Calderwood played one of the games of his life tonight and rightly deserves MoM. Leeds were very good in defence and we didnt have any answers to get up field. When we did we messed up at critical points.

Terrific defensive effort denying Peacock (?) I guess Mathers' hand ultimately was able to get under the ball easily hence held up.

A lot of "If Only's" but from our low points versus Huddersfield at home to within 48 seconds or so that we had a chance Wigan have turned and the Wigan Giant has awoken once again.

Roll on 2009.
