Is the world cup now fast becoming a farce even before it has started.
McCaldewrood discovers some form and desserts them now another player might do the same. Is the theory if im not good enough for England or OZ i will play for any country. Its destabalising the Scottish preparations and to be honest i hope Calderwood does not make the England flight to the tournament. It what players like him deserve.

I personally wished they hadn't split into home nations instead of GB. We weren't strong enough or had enough players to beat the Aussies with them intact as GB, even less now as they're all separate. The Aussies are still intact and have far more strength in depth than we have.

I like Calders but just as Wigan RLFC showed him little loyalty he similarly showed Scotland little loyalty.

It is said that half oz is Scottish the other half is jealous. Thank goodness, Scotland are landing some big name NRL boys coming in late I expect after missing OZ team. RL should have set a declaration of intent date after which players could not switch sides. Calderwood is not our only late withdrawl. Scotland could go all the way

but as long as we are above Enland who cares. :eusa3:

Well said that man just think of all the desendance of Scottish convicts wrongly deported to Aus. What a way to get sweet revenge.
I say pack Scotland full of Scots/Aus players and show all the home nations how the game is played & who cares what message it send oot
Ow how i luv me fishing now the season is over, mind you mine was over after Leeds game, so didnt even watch that thing at old trafford on saturday night

Didn't
they pick him based on knowledge of his ancestry rather that he choose them? I don't know, genuine question.
He has never played for them before as far as I am aware so given his background, the choice was his.
What about Hansen? England schoolboy, played for NZ and now going to play for Samoa? Surely this is far more disloyal than Calderwood who as I said I don't think has ever played for Scotland?

My recollection and I am not 100% certain but pre the pull outs due to injury he was very pro Scotland and in an article talked about his Scottish ties etc.
I concur and I know everybody does it but it does not sit well personally when players switch nations like Hansen, Fasavalu etc.
I admire Giggs for never taking the easy option and playing for England rather than Wales.

having looked at the aussie and NZ squads i think we have lost the plot not competeing as great britain,we stand no chance as the home nations, forget the early mornings record the the matches and just watch the final live australia V new zealand, then sit back and wait for post mortem from the "experts" as why we didn't win it.i wonder if we were asked to compete as the home nations and not GB just to make it a bigger competition, if so who asked? or who surgested it? whoever it was we lost what little chance we had of reaching the final.I hope i am wrong.

In truth there are only 4 competitive teams in our world cup, the top 3 and france.
should just play a 4 nations tournament like next year.
