As Mike says he must have failed to get sponsorship because IMO Whelan would snatch somebody hand off if they had come forward. So ZERO money for Wigan Athletic.

on the latics web site its says wigan athletics stadium renamed,do they realise its not there stadium and the fact DW puts his name on it proves whose stadium it is ,not theres not ours end of argument

I saw Whelan a week/fortnight or so ago. IMO, he looked very old and struggled to even get in his car. Not long for this world and meeting his maker.

Just thought old Davey boy is going to have to replace all the seats in the stadium now. His 'sponsorship' is going to cost him, hopefully.

his ego is bigger than the stadium its self. who the hell does he think he is. he may own the stadium but what advisor in the world told him this would be a good idea

Maybe I am being uncharitable but DW sound like a cheap nasty brand IMO. It is not a name that inspires.
