Letting all the experienced players go at about the same time at around 2003/04- cassidy, o'connor, wild, i'm sure there were plenty more i can't remember...
All that experience lost and replaced by a pile of pap and young kids.

Letting Andy Farrell go, when he could have immediately been introduced into the coaching structure at Wigan.
A big person, on and off the pitch.

Hindsights a wondeful thing !.
My thoughts are not with the players we`ve released .
What about the coaches , We`ve lost Raper and
Endicott , and ultimately been replaced by Millward and Noble .
Need I say more .
Also our poor management team Mo signed all the poor players and got us over the salary cap .
Lenegan is just weak , but it seems we`re carrying on signing poor players , Smith . Mathers , Phelps and Pryce , the juries on Roberts .
We don`t seem to have any forward planning , ignore the past it`s gone .
It seems we need a new coach with new ideas , as we`re stumbling along the road to mediocrity .

Mark Bell Knocked on at London Broncos right on our line. That was a bad one.
Good Friday - Julian O'Neil was one on one with wellens with a man outside him. He did not pass and i think we got nilled at saints that year. He was held up 15 meters away.
Stu last year at Leeds. play off 1 min to go with the full lenght of the field to go. If we score we win the game and go to the greand final. He knocked on taking the kick off. What an idiot!

Re: The Worst Mistake Wigan RLFC Ever Made? (Players)
Having read some of the above posts, lets think about what we are saying.
We didn't let Farrell go, he asked to be released and gave the club little opportunity to sign a replacement.
I have no issue with the signing of Pryce, as see him as a long term investment.
Fielden, Dobson and Nobby were bought in to do a job, which was only acheived by going over on the cap.
What we do need now is half back stability so that the key players can get used to how we operate as a unit. We have no cohesion at the moment and until we bed down the core team and stop chopping and changing, I can't see much happening for the rest of the season.
Nobby I beleive will be here for the rest of the season and I can't see anyone being available to replace if he was to go imminently. I would rather know that the club are actively persuing a world class coach to bring in at the end of this season and not waiting to see what happens and then find out we can't get anyone decent.
If Nobby knows his contract is not being renewed, it puts the pressure on him to prove his worth so he can get another position next season.
If the players know that they will be under a new boss from the end of the season, it motivates them to perform and prove their abilities for the new coach.
I know all this is very easy for me to write, but it's not rocket science is it?

Denis Moran.
Without doubt.
Not even for his swingometer playing form and wholesale lack of number 7 suitability, but more the destructive recreational habits he reinforced in the club.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
