Brian McTigue was an ex boxer. My father told me a tale of him playing for GB v Aus. They had a scrum. Played moved well up field and every player bar 1 moved with it. McTigue's opposing prop who lay unconcious and had to be removed on a stretcher.

Ken Gee, Tommy Brad apparently would say Ken such and such is giving me a hard time and Ken would say leave it to me Tommy and he would take care of them.

Les Davidson and he enjoyed fighting.

Ian Roberts by all accounts could handle himself. Never saw it but they reckon that was why nobody was keen to sledge him re being gay.

Pongia struck me as a tough bloke.

My old man used to box CP, and he told me that pound for pound, McTigue, there wasnt many tougher in Rugby League. He could put a bloke down with one short shot.
IMO Stevie Hampson was a tough bloke too.

I heard a story that Danny Hill got a bit of a kicking whilst out one night, think it was Danny Hill.
Anyway, Gareth Hock went out, brought a bloke to Danny's house by the scruff, and said, was this the bloke Danny. Danny said yes it was.
The bloke ended up in hospital for a short stint.
