simple solution to solve the current problems

Post by FROM A TO B »

1. Sign the current international coach.
2. Bring in one of the top form props in SL (for a record breaking fee)
3. Get a gifted scrum half who is also excellent at converting tries.
4. Break the salary cap in doing so.
5. Sing the theme tune to the great escape

Hang on a minute, where have I heard of that plan before?

To be honest, I don't have a clue?
Majority of fans thought that Nobby was going to be the messiah (note majority not all), but then again anything was better after agent Millward.
Is the answer to get rid of nobby now? I don't think this will acheive anything and even if we get to Wembeley (and survive against Stains), I don't think this will be enough to warrant an extension of contract. The frustration is thaton paper we have a bloody good squad. Is it that they won't play for the coach?
so anyway, shooting Noble will acheive nothing, I just hope that whilst IL was in australia, that he was not just looking at players.

I guess by the tone of some of the posts, not everyone gets sarcasm

Having read Rads autobiography I think we need a strict disciplinarian as coach and a few experienced "model pros" to set an example to the youger players.

I guess nobody could have envisaged how frustrating the last two seasons were. On paper Noble has the credentials. Whatever the reasons beyond the Great Escape it has not happened. Frustration seems to be the common emotion amongst all Wigan fans whatever their views on the merits of individuals at Wigan RLFC.

Such a shame because The Great Escape was very enjoyable and offered great impetus for future seasons. I daresay nobody has all the answers not even IL.

You just like being Victor Meldrew :baaa:

Allow me to detail your plan to it's conclusion..

6. Forget developing new tactics and get team to play one out up the middle once relegation is avoided
7. Have several disappointing seasons where the team fails to be in a position to make a realistic attempt on Grand Final
8. Rely on the talent of ultra talented Australian stand-off (but refuse to listen to his ideas in training)
9. Make as many guest appearances on RL programmes as possible
10. Sign any old tosh from Australia - anything to avoid having to develop players
11. Watch results get continually worse
12. Beat stains twice in fourteen attempts
13. Read Paul Cullen's guide to public speaking
14. Trawl out same old tired excuses after every abysmal performance
15. Drop young players
16. Slowly turn the entire fan base of club against you by making most famous club in the world completely mediocre

And finally

17. Fail to get contract extended and go back to Yorkshire

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds
