As usual a team of Nobles favourites. Why is Flanagan in the 19 over say Farrell? (Clue, Falanagan is the player Dean Bell and Noble fell out over when he was signed i.e. a Noble signing).
Why is Pryce in over Ainscough? Noble signed Pryce.
I can't really comment on Flanagan but the 1st team outings of Ainscough v Pryce have resulted in Ainscough having the better games by some distance.
We are rapidly running out of games for Ainscough to get any further SL experience this season.
Noble doesn't even pick the extra two in the 19 on form never mind the 17 who will be virtually guaranteed to play.

Simple answer. Noble is our coach. End of.
Also Pyrce is Noble's lovechild. :inlo: :eusa18: :inlo:

I recently watched the reserves against Saints, and Flanagan was head and and shoulders above the rest.
He played at stand off and very much reminded me of a young Trent Barratt. He was fast, good side step, good passer, and tremendous defence. He looked much more comfortable at stand off than in the pack and as I say he was brilliant !!!
The problem is will he get a chance at stand off?

I believe flanagan was originally signed as a stand-off/loose but when he went out on loan he played second row. Same ol' Same ol' with Nobby Pyrce will always be in that 19 no matter how close to first team action he is and ainscough is definatly not a noble faveourite so he will not. I said last time ainsy played that he gave Nobby the excuse he was waiting for to drop him after bombing a few kicks, and truth be told we haven't seen him since. Yet Amos "cant catch me oh wait yes you can" Roberts can drop as many as he wants and not get dropped. But lets face it he's only taller and supposedly more experienced so you cant expect him to score more tries or catch more bombs

From the little I have seen, but from a lot I have heard, Flannagan is a class act, so to accuse Noble of unfair favouritism in that selection is unfounded.
I am as mystified as the next man as to what Roberts needs to do to be dropped/Ainsy to be picked.
I would have recalled Mossop, assuming we have the cap space, as we may well need him before the end of the year.
At least with Sam playing and Hock out we have to give the ball more air.
Quins without Purdham are there for the taking, as their form has dipped recently. But we have to be more expansive than them to win - they cannot be ground down.

Flannagan is not a bad player. More of a loose forward than anything else. He can play as a right side playmaker. When he played v saints at 6 he was in a rich vein of form. He is less so now. Still a decent player now.
Farrell who can play second row more readily is the form player at the moment.
Either way, Quins are difficult to play as they grind out wins through persistence and low risk RL.

I'm also surprised Mossop hasn't been recalled; too obvious maybe?
We also need McIlorum to be on the pitch as long as possible (no by-the-clock subs). I wasn't the only one bemused when he was taken off in the second half against HKR, as he was running rings round them - clearly still full of energy as he'd just made a 20-metre scoot from DH.
Riddell loooks better as a prop.
