Past Player memory word game

Post by ancientnloyal »

Here is a random list of ex-players and I thought it would be interesting what two or three words you'd associate with that player. In a way the words you choose would perhaps be their defining moment in a wigan shirt or the memory that most sticks out. Obviously not everyone has seen these players play but for the older ones in the list what words initially come to mind about them?

Martin Offiah - alan tait
Jim Sullivan - flimby and fothergill
James Leytham - 4 cups
Eric Ashton - billy boston
Trent Barrett - man of steel
Mark Calderwood - "the comeback's complete!"
Lance Todd - trophy
Billy Boston - the Greatest
Dave Bolton - local talent
Denis Betts - "saturday night at the movies"
Denis Moran - sacked
Kelvin Skerrett - Super Kel
Georgie Fairbairn - diamond in sh**
Joe Egan - club legend
Henderson Gill - '85 smile
Nigel Wright - injuries
Gene Miles - fiddly hands
Dean Bell - Captain fantastic
Adrian Lam - little wizard
Brett Kenny - 1985 cup final
Chris Ashton - arrogant tw...
Brian Nordgren - try scorer supreme
Henry Paul - dropout v saints
Va'iaga Tuigamala - bulldozer
Shaun Edwards - Legend
Simon Houghton - porn star

James Slevin
Ces Mountford
And the “kind of rugby player you’d want to be in your dreams” James Leytham
Should be in the Wigan Warriors Hall

Jason Robinson - Billy Whizz
Neil Cowie - No nonsense
Doc Murray - I can't watch
David Vaelikki - He cost how much?!
Terry Newton - Sean Long's face
Kris Radlinski - Murrayfield slippers
Andy Farrell - Sculthorpe s**thouse
Frano Botica - The Boot
"And Martin Offiah, trying to make some space, now then..." - Ray French, Wembley 1994
------------------------------------------------
Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds
