ESPN to show NRL

Rugby League fans in the United Kingdom and Ireland will have the opportunity to see the NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final live on ESPN at 7am on Sunday, October 4.

ESPN will also broadcast the 1st Preliminary Final live at 10.45am on Friday, September 25, and the 2nd Preliminary Final at 3pm on Saturday, September 26.

This may be the lead-up to a new contract with the NRL'

i hope so, i have been living in australia for last 9months and am comming home soon so would be hard to live without watching the NRL every week, its an awesome comp.

Would prefer NRL to be on Sky Sports.

I can't really afford another £10 for ESPN so really its just the same situation as with Setanta except EPSN has a lot more money so won't go bankrupt.

if they get NFL monday night games too it might make it a worthwhile expense...

Virgin Customers do not have to pay extra IIRC.

I heard that if you've got the XL package on Virgin, then it's free. I hope so anyway. :)

Yes Sutty its free to XL customers (as we lost the Setanta channels)

Just bumping this up to remind everyone for tomorrow and Saturday - or in case anyone missed the post first time round.

im sure sky showed a monday night game 2 seasons ago... buffalo v - i forgot. I only remember because commentators said its the first time tv been in buffalo on a mondaynight in 2 decades or so... anyway...
