Has anyone got any news on Chris Melling, about his injury and how his recovery is going?
There was evn talk of him retiring from Rugby League full-stop.

Was going to ask the same question. I think I said at the time that the type of injury he was reported to have suffered have sadly finished careers before. I hope this is not the case here. :conf:

Unfortunately age isn't always respected when it comes to injury. It's true that younger players often are able to recover better than older ones, or it's more worth their while taking the time to recover because they have years ahead of them. But some injuries are too difficult for anyone to overcome, and of course rugby league is a very hard game on the body so the recovery has to be more complete than would be needed for a normal person. I can walk down the street with dodgy ligaments, for example, but for a rugby league player that wouldn't be possible.

The original estimate was 6 months rehab after the operation (in April); haven't heard anything different since. Is he still under contract?

He was interviewed in the South Stand bar before a game about a month ago (Leeds I think), he said he was training with the lads and was looking forward to returning next season.
