Could Brian have took us beyond a Semi Final Wigan

Post by Panchitta Marra »

Three Semi Final defeats in three from four Superleague seasons, plus one Challenge Cuo semi finial defeat.
Is this acceptable to Wigan and could Brian Noble have taken us beyond the "Semi Finalist" label.

5 semi's - 5 losses.

Catalans
Leeds
Leeds
Warrington
St Helens.

Great job getting us there but just not had enough to get the wins... sadly.

James Slevin
Ces Mountford
And the “kind of rugby player you’d want to be in your dreams” James Leytham

Its not a good label we were getting identified by A&L, nothing worse feeling than to be dropped out at this stage in any competition.

a conversion rate of 5 semi's and not attaining success once is a joke and that is why Noble is on his way, in combination with his preference of aging aussies of limited talent.

I thought it ironic that people were chanting 'there's only one brian moble' at the end of the game after such a poor attacking display when we looked devoid of ideas yet again. Thank god there is only brian noble!

young coach (whether foreign or english) with some new ideas please
NOBLE OUT PLEASE- YOU'VE HAD TIME AND NOW MY PATIENCE HAS RUN OUT!

IT'S ONE THING TO LOSE, IT'S ANOTHER TO PLAY DIRE AND BORING RL AND THEN LOSE!

Has anyone thought that perhaps the quality of the players he had had something to do with it?

A 100% lose record in semi finals - plus the fact that we lost a dozen games in the regular season (including the shambles at celtic) tells you all you need to know.

Brian Noble could have taken us to a final at his next attempt; but even then his win/lose percentage in semis would still only be 17%

I don't have anything against Brian Noble as a person; however other coaches who were more successful at Wigan were discarded sooner than he has been. Why should he receive special treatment? John Monie didn't

He will always be remembered for the "great escape" and all Wigan fans thank him for that; but I never really felt that we would win anything with him in charge.

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds
