The RFL say they want a full time coach so that rules out all existing SL coaches.

Would they consider Edwards "full time" because he has no other involvement with RL if he kept his RU jobs?

Doubt the RU mob would allow it anyway but it's an idea.

Can't see what Hanley brings to the table. Coaching a lower division side for a while doesn't exactly set him up for tactical jousts with the likes of the Aussie and NZ coaches.

Yeah Mike Ford has been listed as a candidate for the England job. A former Wigan scrum half from the 80's so at least it can't be seen as League poaching Unions coaching talent since he was a RL player originally.

ellery hanley would be a excellent choice but he has done it before
As has John Kear, who was listed as a candidate by the first poster!

Edwards is considered full time by his main employers - London Wasps. He also is part time assistant coach with the WRU. I don't think Wasps would allow him to have two part time positions! I say this because the RU Autumn internationals start in November, not long after/during the Four Nations.

I also feel that with Tony Smith doing this job part time with Warrington is also detrimental to the England team. We need a full time coach and someone who can properly scout himself, as well as being able to scout the opponents accurately as well.

So? We are in need to catch up with them and the Kiwis aren't we? Think of the pool of players that have to choose from? It makes a part time job much easier to do!
