MM will bring in a leadership team, Lockers already in it the other 4 to be confirmed. Each will share the captains role, with a rotation of captain for game day.

I like the idea, i agree with MM it saves overstretching 1 individual i think it will take some of the heat off lockers aswell and will improve him as a player and a leader

I don't think it matters that much really. You could probably guess who the LT will be (Richards, Tomkins or Deacon,Fielden or Bailey?) and this sort of approach just formalises what probably exists informally anyway. I think the current trendy management phrase for this type of structure is 'diffuse or delegated leadership'.

But it's a different approach and can't do any harm.

To many cooks for my liking i think one captain our boys have enough to think about without having to remember who the captain is on that paticular day .Like lockers as captain think he should have kept his captancy very popular player on this forum .Younger players always seem to be protected by the senior ones goes without saying doesn"t it?.

It cannot do any harm, Change is good!
Also although i love Sean to bits, sometimes when his game is a little off his concentration on getting it right superceed his captains role, and rightly so, IMO. Just feel the younger ones need mentors out there and if we are to field more and more young lads then more leaders the better.. it cannot be wrong can it.

Lockers.
although i think these guys would be the best, you have bailey, who i doubt will be here in 2011, same with fielden, unless he ups his game. decs is unlikely to play after this season, gleeson is getting on a bit, and then lockers, our regular captain. not a very long term plan.

i would expect someone younger to feature, but not sam tomkins, he has too much pressure on him as it is. just one player, who they have an eye on to be captain in a few years time.

im unsure about this, it could work, and make the players play out of their skins, but it also could create divisions within the squad, and inconsistency's with ref's.

Who's going to lift the Challenge Cup and Super League trophy when Wigan win them this season?

NFL have a similar set-up they have 4. (obviously offense, defense, special team etc...)

Not struck on the idea.
One team, one captain.
The best person should be selected for the job and onwards from there, as far as I am concerned.

I just dont understand what benefits can be gained from having 5 captains.I do not believe that there are 5 players at any club who are suited to being skipper.
