Have you seen the flight accident report programs on "National Geographic".
One on report, a plane flying from the Far East to australia started loosing its engines to engine failure, one by one. The pilot decided to return back to base but from approx 40,000 feet they had to dive down and use a "reverse thrust" manoevre through the engines to restart them.
Passenger had also noted millions of sparks like electro static arcs on the planes wings and fuselage. The pilots windows were becoming less easy to see from as the flight continued.
Eventually the pilot managed to start up all 4 engines and repeated his journey onwards towards Australia again.
The very same engine failures occure and sparks started again so the pilot headed back to the Far east where he began his flight.
When the plane landed there was very little paint left on the outside of the shell and remnants of fused rock were found inside the planes turbines.
During the flight the plane had flew over hundreds of volcanoes in Indonesia, and one of them had just started to erupt spilling its ash into the skies above.
I may have the flight locations wrong, but the flight was real and it flew over am errupting Indonesian volcano.
The ash striped the paint from the plane plus lodged in globules inside the engines.
I wouldnt be flying from or into Britain as long as the Icelandic volcano is dishing its ashes out.

In rugby league's Challenge Cup, Widnes and St Helens are due to host French sides FC Lezignan-Corbieres and Toulouse respectively on Saturday.

Leigh travel to face Limoux on Saturday, with Salford visiting Catalans Dragons the following day.

"We are monitoring the situation and keeping in contact with the clubs," said a Rugby Football League spokesman.

After their flight to Carcassonne was cancelled on Thursday, Leigh opted to drive to Folkestone for an overnight stay before boarding the Eurostar train to France on Friday morning.

Leigh chief executive Allan Rowley said: "Today's volcanic eruption has caused chaos across Europe and unfortunately it became apparent at lunchtime that flying to France was no longer an option.

"Today has been a real challenge for us but, in the end, happily we managed to find some transport and are now on our way to Carcassonne."
